Thank-you for trying a MicroVideo product. Notes for the MvTv Scheduler Server Installation: Hardware Requirements: Pentium 4 1.5 GHz CPU with 128 MB RAM, enough free space for your videos (1 GB+). Software Requirements: Microsoft Windows XP (Pro recommended), 2000 (Pro recommended), 2000 Server, 2003 Server Microsoft dot Net 2.0 Installation Notes: 1. Unzip the contents of the MvTv Scheduler Server Installation zip package (MvTvSchedulerInstall.zip) to an installation folder, then launch the installation by choosing setup.exe. 2. You'll be prompted to install Microsoft Dot Net 2.0 if it's not already installed. Make sure you get the latest updates from Windows Update after you install dot Net 2.0. 3. You'll need a valid license to operate the MvTv Repeater Server. You MUST get one from MicroVideo Learning Systems, Inc. Enter the license provided by MicroVideo using the Admin Module, by clicking on Licensing, then Update Customer License. Once you have selected "Update your license, you MUST restart the MvTv Repeater Server service. You can do so by using the ServiceConfigEditor.exe or restarting the MvTv Repeater Secure Server Service in the Windows "Services" Management Console. 4. Once the installation is complete, you should configure the MvTv Scheduler Server before running it. To launch it, double-click on the MvTv Scheduler Server Config File Editor icon on your Desktop. (The default location for the Service Config Editor (ServiceConfigEditor.exe) is located in C:\MvTv\MvTv Scheduler Server). Run the Service Config Editor and change the port number to whichever port you wish to run the MvTv System on. Note that in order to navigate firewalls you will need to use port 80. Also note that web services also run on port 80. If you need to run the MvTv Service on port 80, then other web services like IIS and Apache cannot run on the same server as the MvTv Server. Once you've set the Port number, select Generate Config File, then select Start Service, then close the editor. The MvTv Scheduler Server service may shut off automatically, but you can't see this in the Service Config Editor. If you have trouble with your MvTv System, open Windows "Services" from Administration Tools found in the Control Panel. Check to make sure the MvTv Secured Service is running. If not, restart it. If it still won't stay on Started, then you must change the port numbers for the Server Service via the Service Config Editor. Once you do so, try restarting the service again from Windows "Services". 5. Configure the MvTv Scheduler Admin as per the instructions, then open it. Go to Licensing, then select Update Customer License. If you just installed the SServer, your license will be -1, which won't allow you to do much. Copy the valid license you received from MicroVideo and paste it over the -1, then click update your license. The license will be saved in your MvTv database. In order to use the new license, the MvTv Scheduler Server service must be restarted. To do so, follow the instructions in 4., above. 6. NOTE: The MvTv is a remoting program that communicates with the IP protocol utilizing ports. If you can't login to the Admin, check to make sure your firewall isn't blocking all ports. Either turn your firewall off (just for testing) or add the required port number as an exception (preferred method). This includes Microsoft Firewall. The most common problem for a failed MvTv connection is a firewall blocking the MvTv ports.See website for details.
